The preliminary investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division revealed that a 2016 Toyota Rav4 driven by Ashley B. Moore, 26, of La Follette, Tennessee, collided head-on with a 2016 Infiniti Q50 driven by Evann A. Jones, 39, of Augusta, Georgia. After the initial impact, the Infiniti was struck by a 2008 Cadillac DTS driven by Dennis F. Wells, 76, of Athens, and then struck a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup driven by Ramiro B. Garcia, 54, of Ardian, Michigan. The 13-year-old passenger in the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased. A 14-year-old juvenile passenger in the Toyota also suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Ashley B. Moore, Evann A. Jones, and Dennis F. Wells were all injured and transported to hospitals for treatment. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further details have not been released by ALEA.
