Jett Lawrence Sweeps Motos at High Point for Third Pro Motocross Championship Win Honda HRC rider Jett Lawrence has extended his dominance in the 2023 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sweeping both motos at High Point Raceway to secure his third victory in just four races. In the opening moto, Lawrence emerged from the pack early on and quickly established a commanding lead. He rode consistently and fehlerlos, maintaining his gap throughout the 30-minute-plus-two-lap race. The second moto proved to be a bit more challenging for Lawrence, as he faced pressure from Monster Energy Kawasaki rival Seth Hammaker. However, the Australian held his ground, battling through a mid-moto surge from Hammaker to cross the finish line first. With the double moto victory, Lawrence extended his championship lead to 16 points over Hammaker. He also became the first rider to win three races in the 250 class this season. “It was a really good day for us,” said Lawrence after the race. “I felt like I rode really well all day. I was able to get out front and control the first moto. In the second moto, Seth (Hammaker) was riding really fast, but I was able to hold him off.” Lawrence’s victory at High Point marks a significant milestone in his young career. It is his seventh career Pro Motocross win and his third in the 250 class. The 20-year-old is now one of the favorites for the championship title. “We’re still early in the season, but I’m feeling really good about where we’re at,” added Lawrence. “We’re going to keep working hard and try to keep getting better.” The next round of the Pro Motocross Championship will take place at Thunder Valley Raceway in Colorado on June 11th.Jett Lawrence Dominates High Point, Secures Third Pro Motocross Championship Win American rider Jett Lawrence continued his impressive start to the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship, dominating both motos at the High Point National to earn his third victory in four races. Lawrence started the day with a commanding performance in the first moto, leading from start to finish and setting the fastest lap along the way. In the second moto, he faced early pressure from his Honda HRC teammate Chase Sexton, but eventually regained the lead and controlled the race to the checkered flag. This latest win extends Lawrence’s lead in the championship standings over Sexton to 11 points. The Australian has now won three of the four motos held so far this season and is looking like the favorite to claim the 250MX title. Sexton finished second overall on Saturday, followed by Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Levi Kitchen in third. Kitchen had a strong ride in the second moto, finishing second behind Lawrence and ahead of Sexton. In the 450MX class, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac captured his second consecutive win, taking the victory ahead of Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb and Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton. Tomac held off a late charge from Webb to secure the overall victory, while Sexton finished third after a mistake in the second moto cost him valuable time. With his High Point win, Tomac moves into the 450MX championship lead, holding a slim 2-point advantage over Webb. The next round of the Pro Motocross Championship will be held at RedBud National in Buchanan, Michigan, on Saturday, July 1.
