A campaign featuring the EURO 2024 Trophy promoted ‘Stopover in Qatar,’ encouraging travelers to explore the country during layover. Fan Engagement As Presenting Partner of EURO 2024 Fantasy Football, Visit Qatar attracted 3.7 million participants. The grand prize winner received a trip to Qatar for two. Building Qatar’s Sports Legacy Qatar’s involvement in UEFA EURO 2024 underscores its status as a leading sports destination. Preparations are underway for major events like the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2030 Asian Games.

Visit Qatar will conclude its activities during UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany, introducing European fans to Qatari culture and hospitality through immersive experiences, promoting Qatar as a leading tourism destination.

Visit Qatar has successfully completed its dynamic line-up of activations held in Germany during UEFA EURO 2024, as part of its partnership with UEFA. The initiative aimed to showcase Qatar’s cultural richness and hospitality to a diverse European audience through a series of engaging and immersive experiences.

During UEFA EURO 2024™, Visit Qatar introduced the Doha Club activation at the Fan Zone Reichstag in Berlin and the Fan Zone Olympiapark in Munich.

Welcoming approximately 45,000 fans, the Doha Club offered a modern beach club atmosphere where visitors could immerse themselves in Qatari culture. Guests enjoyed local delicacies such as Qahwa (Arabic coffee) and Karak (milk tea), experienced traditional Qatari hospitality and enjoyed activities such as foot volley and passing the Qatari Bisht.

Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Visit Qatar Board of Directors, expressed his appreciation: “I would like to extend my congratulations to the Spanish team for their well-deserved victory. We are pleased with our continued UEFA partnership, which has provided a platform for seamless cross-cultural integration at Europe’s number one football tournament. This partnership underlines Qatar’s status as a leading sports destination and builds on our proud heritage of hosting major sporting events.”

The official further noted: “The activities organised by Visit Qatar during the tournament, which provided an insight into Qatar’s unique combination of authenticity and modernity, have been truly warmly welcomed by European fans.”

Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, said: “We have successfully concluded our activities at EURO 2024™ and are delighted with the large turnout and enthusiasm for the Doha Club in both the Berlin and Munich fan zones.

He added: “Through this initiative, we have helped fans from all over the world to become familiar with Qatari culture and hospitality. Visit Qatar’s aim was to leverage the tournament’s extensive reach and popularity to promote Qatar as a leading tourist destination in key markets in Europe.”

In addition to the on-site actions, Visit Qatar launched an impactful campaign with the

UEFA EURO 2024™ Trophy to promote the ‘Stopover in Qatar’ initiative. The campaign was broadcast across 49 media channels in key European markets, showcasing Qatar’s iconic landmarks and encouraging travellers to explore the country during stopovers and short stays.

In addition, Visit Qatar has partnered with COPA90, a leading football platform, to create engaging content featuring key football influencers and football legend Rio Ferdinand, with the aim of promoting Qatar as a must-visit travel destination.

Both actions promoted the association between UEFA EURO 2024 and Visit Qatar through ticket giveaways. More than 30 lucky winners got the chance to attend UEFA EURO 2024 matches, further engaging the audience and enhancing the overall fan experience.
