The new parlor, called Scoops, will be located at the Acomb Working Men’s Club on Front Street. It will serve a range of ice cream flavors, milkshakes, and sundaes. The club’s general manager, John Smith, said the parlor will be a welcome addition to the club and the wider community. “We’re really excited about opening Scoops,” he said. “We think it will be a great place for people to come and enjoy some delicious ice cream, and we hope it will become a popular spot for families and friends alike.” The parlor will be open from Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 9pm. It will create two new jobs. The approval of the ice cream parlor is part of the club’s wider plans to refurbish and expand its facilities. The club is also planning to build a new extension, which will include a function room and a gym. Cllr Carol Runciman, who represents Acomb ward on the council, welcomed the approval of the ice cream parlor. “I’m delighted that the council has approved this application,” she said. “Scoops will be a great addition to the Acomb Working Men’s Club, and I’m sure it will be a popular spot for people to come and enjoy some delicious ice cream.”
