Station officials have asked the public to avoid the crime scene, which is believed to be located at Rainbow Glen Market. Deputy Robert Jensen confirmed that one patient was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with a gunshot wound. Their current condition is unknown, but authorities do not currently believe this is a homicide investigation. As of 9:30 p.m., officers are still actively investigating the scene. No suspects have been identified at this time. Firefighters responded to a call for service around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Honby Avenue, where they treated the victim and transported them to the hospital. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact their office.

Officers with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are investigating a report from a shooting victim who reported his own injuries, station officials said.

“The first call was (8:41 p.m.),” said Deputy Sheriff Evan Luster of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Luster confirmed that the call was likely from the victim. He said he called from Rainbow Glen Drive in Canyon Country.

Station officials are asking the public to stay away from the crime scene, which is believed to be at Rainbow Glen Market at 26970 Rainbow Glen Drive.

“The informant called himself, he was breathing heavily and said he had been shot, and then he hung up,” said SCV Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Jensen.

Jensen confirmed that one patient was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with a gunshot wound.

The patient’s condition was not known as of 9:24 p.m. However, at the time this story was published, station officials had no indication that this was a homicide investigation.

No additional information was available at this time regarding possible suspects, with officers still having an active crime scene in the area as of approximately 9:30 p.m.

Firefighters said the sheriff’s office called them to the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Honby Avenue around 8:45 p.m. for a gunshot wound patient, Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Michael Pittman said. He confirmed that one person was treated and taken to the hospital.
