Event Highlights: * Exhibit Hub: Engage with local organizations such as Grateful Greens, Food Cycle Coalition, and Windham Solid Waste Management District, learning about their innovative approaches to sustainable food practices. * Pee Cycling Celebration: Applaud Rich Earth Institute’s community-based pee cycling program, honoring top urine donors in the “Piss-Off Hall of Fame.” * “Urine My Garden” Workshop (2 pm): Join Julia Cavicchi to master the basics of urine recycling at home, utilizing nutrients from our bodies to cultivate thriving gardens. * Music by Jay Bailey (3 pm): Enjoy heartfelt songs about life and agriculture from Fair Winds Farm. * Smoothie Station: Pedal away at the Bellows Falls Community Bike Project’s smoothie station to create refreshing refreshments. * Dosa Kitchen Delights: Indulge in authentic South Indian cuisine at Dosa Kitchen, located adjacent to the palooza.

BRATTLEBORO, Vermont – Celebrate Brattleboro’s local food cycles at Rich Earth Palooza, a day of fun and learning about how food is grown, composted, and recycled. Join us for art, music, and exhibits from organizations working on creative approaches to sustainable and equitable food systems. Come discover how you can get involved in the local food cycle and help enrich the Earth.

The festivities include:

Meet local organizations at exhibits and activity stations including Grateful Greens microgreens, Food Cycle Coalition, Town of Brattleboro Sustainability, Brooks Memorial Library’s Library of Things, Foodworks, Edible Brattleboro, Windham Solid Waste Management District, Ben’s Bins Vermicomposting, and Toilets for People.

A celebration of Rich Earth Institute’s community-based pee cycling program, which reclaims human urine as a resource to support local farms and protect the Connecticut River watershed from pollution. Don’t miss announcements of the “Piss-Off Hall of Fame,” honoring the community’s top urine donors.

At 2pm, join us for the “Urine My Garden” workshop with Julia Cavicchi, Director of Rich Earth’s Education, to learn the basics of urine recycling on a home scale, reclaiming the nutrients from our bodies to grow lush gardens.

At 3pm, listen to songs about life and farming by Jay Bailey of Fair Winds Farm.

Bike to a fresh smoothie at the Bellows Falls Community Bike Project smoothie station.

Visit Dosa Kitchen next to the palooza for delicious South Indian soul food.
