The Farmer Wants a Wife presenter and former Sunrise star says she is recovering from a total hip replacement she had a few weeks ago at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
According to Armytage, an active childhood and a skiing accident 30 years ago had affected her right hip.

“I had all the cartilage torn out,” she wrote on Instagram.
“It was bone on bone and then it became filled with severe osteoarthritis.”

The 47-year-old woman said she was proud of how well her body had recovered after the surgery.
She thanked her family and friends for their support, as well as the medical team who cared for her.
“I am now truly bionic and my loved ones are happy that they no longer have to see me hobbling around in pain,” said Armytage.
“A huge thank you to the wonderful nurses (at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney) for the care, a bit of Endone… lots of rehab and all my beautiful friends for filling my room with flowers!”

Former Seven colleague and current The Morning Show presenter Kylie Gillies commented on a series of photos Armytage posted of herself in hospital.
“I think these deserve a new pair of Jimmy Choos just to give those old heels and new hips a boost! Glad to hear it went well,” Kylie wrote.
Singer, radio star and Australian Idol host Ricki-Lee Coulter said: “You’ll be dancing in no time. Sending you love.”
Last month, Farmer Wants a Wife was nominated for Best Structured Reality Program at the 64th TV Week Logie Awards.
At the time, Armytage said she was “thrilled” to be nominated, along with Seven’s SAS Australia.
