SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A woman was rescued from San Francisco Bay near Pier 9 after jumping into the water during a heat wave Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses at the Waterfront Restaurant on the Embarcadero called 911 and reported that a woman “had jumped into the water … and was swimming near the cones,” a San Francisco Fire Department spokesperson told KRON4.

The woman was wearing normal clothes and not a swimsuit. Temperatures were around 21 degrees Celsius at the time.
