Addressing reporters on Saturday, Shinde directed action against drug suppliers and structures near schools, colleges, and pubs that provide avenues for drug distribution. “Those who are ruining the youth through drugs, no one will be spared,” Shinde said. “Not just from Pune, we will uproot them from all over Maharashtra.” The Chief Minister specifically instructed Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to use bulldozers to demolish illegal constructions linked to drug activity. Shinde emphasized that drug suppliers and establishments near educational institutions would face severe consequences. He promised to address the issue of drug use and its negative impact on Maharashtra’s youth.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Saturday, June 29, that his government will put an end to illegal structures that encourage youth to use drugs.
“All drug suppliers, structures near schools, colleges, pubs and other places that facilitate supply of medicines, I have directed action against them,” CM Shinde said.
