The United States Pickleball Association (USAPA) National Indoor Championships will take place from March 10th to 12th at the Jacksonville Convention Center. Over 2,500 players from across the country are expected to compete in various age and skill divisions. “Jacksonville is honored to host this major national event,” said Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry. “Pickleball has become a vibrant part of our community, and we are eager to showcase the city’s passion for the sport.” The tournament will feature competitions in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, as well as adaptive and para pickleball divisions. The USAPA’s top-ranked players, including Ben Johns, Irina Tereschenko, and Simone Jardim, are among the expected participants. “Jacksonville offers the perfect venue for a tournament of this scale,” said USAPA Executive Director Stu Upson. “The convention center’s spacious facilities and prime location will provide an exceptional experience for both players and spectators.” In addition to the on-court action, the tournament will also feature a vendor expo, clinics, and social events. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about pickleball equipment, training programs, and the latest industry trends. “We anticipate a record-breaking turnout for this tournament,” said Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Executive Director Jason Hughes. “Pickleball is attracting enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds, and we believe this event will further elevate the sport’s profile in Jacksonville and beyond.” The National Indoor Championships serve as a qualifying event for the 2023 World Pickleball Championships, scheduled to take place in Rome, Italy.
