The new charging stations, which are located at strategic points across Amarillo, offer both Level 2 and Level 3 charging capabilities. Level 2 chargers provide up to 19.2 kilowatts of power, allowing most EVs to fully charge overnight. Level 3 chargers, also known as DC fast chargers, can deliver up to 350 kilowatts of power, enabling vehicles to regain a significant range in a matter of minutes. “We are excited to provide our residents and visitors with convenient and accessible charging options,” said Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson. “By investing in EV infrastructure, we are not only meeting the growing demand for electric vehicles but also supporting our city’s environmental goals.” The installation of the charging stations was made possible through a partnership between the city and several local businesses and organizations.
