After shoulder problems, it will be Sabalenka’s first tournament in over a month, in which she has not played since Berlin. Daria Kasatkina is the second seed. She could face either Lesia Tsurenko or Caroline Dolehide. Ons Jabeur was another big name to miss the Olympic draw. She will face either Shelby Rogers or Robin Montgomery. Emma Raducanu has been criticized again this week for her decision not to compete in the Olympics. She seems to prefer to do ranking training and will once again face Elise Mertens, whom she swept at Wimbledon. Peyton Stearns could then be waiting in an intriguing fight.
