Lance McDonald, 37, was sentenced Tuesday in connection with the 2022 rape of a woman at the Red Roof Inn in Framingham.

According to a statement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, McDonald was convicted of two counts of rape, one count of armed robbery, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of wiretap violation.

McDonald had arranged to meet the 42-year-old woman following an advertisement for sexual services, the statement said.

Upon arrival, McDonald physically and sexually assaulted the woman, threatening her with a knife, then hitting her in the head with a clothes hanger and robbing her, authorities said.

The woman gave detectives photos of McDonald, and a screenshot from the hotel’s surveillance system also helped them identify him, the district attorney’s office said. Police searched McDonald’s phone and discovered a recording of the incident that was made without the woman’s knowledge or consent, officials said.

McDonald was sentenced at Middlesex Crown Court on Tuesday, with sentencing scheduled for July 31.
