The race has been sold out since January, and the winning constructor and podium finishers will receive prizes from Herend Porcelain Manufactory. The Hungaroring has undergone renovations, including a new main entrance, building, and utility network. The area behind the Super Gold grandstand has also been expanded. The S-bend, named after the legendary driver Ayrton Senna, has been painted green and yellow in his honor. The awards for the podium finishers and the winning constructor were presented at a press conference. The neoclassical style vases feature a unique Far Eastern motif called the ‘Imperial Peony’. The winning designer will take home a decorative plate with the same pattern. The Hungaroring has also signed a strategic agreement with the MÁV-Volán Group, the transport company. The two companies will jointly communicate, launch special services, and sell special ticket products to encourage fans to use public transport to get to the circuit.

There will certainly be a full house at the 39th Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix, as tickets for Sunday’s race were sold out back in January. The winning constructors and podium finishers will once again receive prizes from Herend Porcelain Manufactory.

Speaking at a press conference at the Hungaroring circuit (in Mogyoród, near Budapest) on Monday, Zsolt Gyulay, President and CEO of Hungaroring Sport Zrt., said that the first phase of the development, announced in connection with the contract extension until 2032 signed during last year’s race weekend, has been completed. “The utility network has been completely upgraded and the main entrance and building have been completed, creating a worthy reception centre, with internal works continuing until November 30,” Zsolt Gyulay said, adding that the area behind the Super Gold grandstand, located at the finish line, has been expanded.

“In the next phase of the renovation we will also demolish the main stand, but the two tunnels leading from the paddock to the Super Gold stand are already structurally complete.

The area behind the main stand will once again offer a variety of entertainment and there will also be a 60-metre high bungee jumping tower from which the track can be seen from a different perspective,

he said.

Zsolt Gyulay also revealed that the Hungaroring, like other venues on the F1 calendar, will commemorate three-time world champion Ayrton Senna, who tragically died in a crash 30 years ago. The kerbs of the S-bend, named after the legendary driver, have been painted green and yellow this weekend, in the colours of the Brazilian flag.

During the press conference, the awards for the podium finishers and the winning constructor were presented. The neoclassical style vases, made by Herendi Porcelain Manufactory, feature a unique Far Eastern motif called the ‘Imperial Peony’. As Attila Simon, the company’s CEO, explained, the pattern is a stylized green rose with plant tendrils and leaves, the base color of the trophy is beige, and the Hungaroring silhouette appears in the mirror.

The winning designer will take home a decorative plate with the same pattern, with the colours of the Hungarian national flag applied to the openwork edge of the porcelain plate, created using a special technique.

The prizes are decorated with 18-carat matte gold, are all handmade and have a total value of tens of millions of forints.

During the press conference, Zsolt Gyulay and Zoltán Pafféri, Chairman and CEO of the MÁV-Volán Group, signed a strategic agreement for the next three years. In it, the transport company and Hungaroring agreed to jointly communicate, launch special services and sell special ticket products. “Our common goal is to encourage fans to leave the driving to the professional drivers and use public transport to get to the circuit, because it is both more convenient and environmentally friendly,” said Zoltán Pafféri. The so-called Vármegye24 day ticket costs HUF 999 (EUR 2.55) and is available this weekend under the name F1 Travel Pass for the convenience of foreign fans.
