Some Samsung smartphone users have been facing the green line/pink line issue for the past 2-3 years. The South Korean company has not addressed the issue directly. Following an outcry on social media, Samsung India announced a few months ago that Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 users with green line issues could get free screen repair.

Now the company has expanded that offering to more phones and for a longer period of time.

Samsung India Support confirmed to tipster Tarun Vats that the free screen replacement program has been extended. It is now available for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra users. The period for this screen replacement program is valid till September 30, 2024. Also, these devices must have been purchased within three years from the date of the repair request.

Samsung also announced that the screen will be available for free, but users will have to pay for labor costs and provide the original purchase receipt.

Even with this screen replacement policy, some users in India might face issues as not all service centers are willing to replace the screen for free. Users might have to pressure them by calling up Samsung customer care and explaining their issue or posting about it on X (formerly Twitter).

A green or pink line may appear across the screen of some Samsung Galaxy phones. Such an issue usually occurs only if the phone has been dropped, damaged, or received an impact at a critical angle. However, in some cases, users claim that a green line has appeared on their phone’s screen without any damage or drop and that it appeared after installing a software update.

Samsung has not yet clarified whether a green line can appear without damaging the device.
