Authorities conducted an arrest warrant execution at a hotel on July 2, 2024, after receiving information about illicit drug activities. During the search of the hotel room, officers found Burness in possession of a significant amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine. Furthermore, Burness, a convicted felon, was found carrying a firearm. His arrest charges include trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Burness is currently held in the Bay County Jail with a bail set at $166,000. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates may be provided as the case progresses.
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of an Alabama man suspected of trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine.
According to authorities, on July 2, 2024, the BCSO Special Investigations Division served an arrest warrant at a hotel at 5126 W. Highway 98 after detectives determined that illegal drug trafficking was taking place.

When officers searched the hotel room, they discovered Jeremy Castiel Burness, 32, of Enterprise, Alabama, was in possession of a quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Burness, a convicted felon, was also in possession of a gun.
Burnette was arrested for the following crimes: trafficking in fentanyl (more than 4 grams but less than 14 grams), trafficking in methamphetamine (more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams), possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Burnette is being held in the Bay County Jail on $166,000 bail.
