Mineola School District Students Raise Funds for Children in NeedMineola School District Students Raise Funds for Children in Need The Mineola School District is applauding the remarkable fundraising efforts of the Kindergarten and Grade 2 students at Meadow Drive School. The students collectively raised over $600 for two deserving organizations. Kindergarteners’ Generosity for Operation Smile Inspired by the mission of Operation Smile, the kindergarten class organized a bracelet drive and made handmade bracelets for sale. Their promotional video raised awareness throughout the school community. With the support of their teachers, parents, and friends, they were able to contribute $460 to the non-profit that provides cleft lip and palate repairs to children worldwide. Second-Graders Support Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Moved by the story of a Mineola high school student fundraising for cancer patients, the Grade 2 class formed Joy Club. Partnering with the high schooler and his “Changing TOMorrows” fundraiser, they hosted a bake sale and bracelet drive. The proceeds from this event amounted to $176.50 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Collective Impact for Good The collective efforts of Meadow Drive School’s students raised an impressive $636.50 for these two impactful organizations. Their dedication to helping others and their ability to plan and execute fundraising events highlight their exceptional character and compassion. The Mineola School District is proud to honor their students for their remarkable contributions.

Mineola School District is proud to thank the Kindergarten and Grade 2 students at Meadow Drive School for their collective fundraising effort of over $600 to donate.

The kindergarten class raised $460 to donate to Operation Smile, a nonprofit that provides cleft lip and palate repairs to children worldwide. When the students learned about Operation Smile, they planned a fundraiser to raise money for the organization.

The kindergarten class organized a bracelet drive and made handmade bracelets to sell for the cause. Students created a promotional video that was shared with the school community to raise awareness.

Kindergarten teachers Mrs. Dilemme, Mrs. Reyhanian, Mrs. O’Malley, Mrs. Silverman, Mrs. Paulik and Mrs. Andreuzzi guided the students in planning and executing the fundraising event.
Thanks to the generosity of parents, friends and teachers, the class was able to raise $460 for Operation Smile.

Meadow Drive School’s sophomore class raised $176.50 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The students were inspired by a Mineola high school student who raised money for patients battling cancer.

With the help of their principal, Jennie Fahey, and Meadow Drive’s Ms. Fahey, the students formed Joy Club. The club partnered with high school sophomore Justin Spera and his “Changing TOMorrows” fundraiser.

The students met with Spera to plan a bake sale and bracelet drive during a PTA meeting. All proceeds from the drive went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. With the help of parents and staff, the second-graders raised $176.50.

Together, the students of Meadow Drive School raised $636.50 for Operation Smile and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Mineola School District is proud of its students for their dedication to helping others and organizing these fundraisers.
