Free Parking and Transportation Take advantage of three hours of complimentary parking per week at 151 West Cordova. Cycle enthusiasts can utilize the bike valet service on select days. Additionally, single-zone TransLink passes are available at select retailers. With the Water Street car-free pilot project, pedestrians can safely cross streets without fear of traffic congestion. Live Music and Entertainment From July 10th to September 5th, “Gastown Thursday Nights” will showcase live music across four stages, featuring an eclectic lineup of artists. On July 10th, the “Gastown Grand Prix: Global Relay” brings elite cyclists to the streets for a thrilling race. Markets and Cultural Experiences The “Maker’s Public Market” on July 13th and August 10th at Maple Tree Square offers a showcase of local businesses and vendors. On August 1st, the “Pride Kickoff Party” marks the official launch of Vancouver Pride with a celebration of drag, music, and dance. On August 8th, “Aeriosa Vertical Dance Playground” transforms 21 Water Street into a vertical dance floor, where aerial dancers perform on walls, ledges, and rooftops. In what feels like a long time, Vancouverites have finally been able to enjoy warm-weather wonders like patio dining, al fresco markets, and outdoor concerts. And Gastown has it all.

Taking full advantage of the walkable neighborhood, the Gastown Business Improvement Society (GBIS) has launched a summer events calendar featuring family-friendly activities that are free to attend.

As an added incentive to visit Vancouver’s iconic neighbourhood, Gastown offers up to three hours of free parking per week in the lot at 151 West Cordova, bike valet parking on select days, and free single-zone TransLink passes available at select retailers. Additionally, the Water Street car-free pilot project has officially launched, meaning you can cross the street without worrying about being honked at by a taxi.

“Our summer events calendar is designed to reflect the unique spirit and creativity of Gastown,” said Elise Yurkowski, director of marketing for GBIS, in a statement. “We invite everyone to join us in celebrating our community, supporting local businesses and enjoying the rich cultural experiences Gastown has to offer. This summer is about bringing people together and creating lasting memories.”
