At least five people have been killed and five others injured in a collision between two buses in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, local firefighters said.
The accident happened on Monday on Highway 191 in the municipality of Ipeuna, 206 km from Sao Paulo, Brazil’s largest city, Xinhua news agency reported.
One of the buses was transporting patients to a medical center for clinical trials, while the other vehicle was empty.
Four of the victims were traveling in the bus with patients. The fifth victim was the driver of the empty bus.
According to local authorities, the highway was closed in both directions due to the accident to allow for rescue efforts.
