“The consequences of the bloody war in the Gaza Strip, which has been going on for nine months, plunge us into deep sorrow. Nothing can justify the fighting, which led to the deaths of about 40,000 residents, mainly women and children. We call for an immediate end to violent actions and an immediate start of the peace process,” Mirziyoyev said, speaking at an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha.

The President of Uzbekistan once again stressed that the main condition for ensuring strategic stability and peace in the Middle East is the establishment of an independent and free state of Palestine.

Earlier, Mirziyoyev called the attitude of Western countries towards the situation in the Gaza Strip a double standard. According to him, countries that widely promote democracy and human rights turn a blind eye to the killing of civilians.
