CHICAGO (WLS) — A competitive eater from Chicago won the annual Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest on July 4.

Patrick Bertoletti ate 58 hot dogs to win the title.

The field Bertoletti competed against did not include Joey “Jaws” Chestnut, who had won 16 of the previous 17 contests. Chestnut was not competing for a sponsorship deal.
