Memorandum of Understanding Between Ukraine and Singapore on Food SafetyMemorandum of Understanding Between Ukraine and Singapore on Food Safety The State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection of Ukraine (SSUFSCP) and the Food Agency of the Republic of Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the field of food safety. This move will facilitate mutual trade in import, export, and re-export between the two countries. Scope of Cooperation The MoU covers several areas of collaboration, including: * Control, prevention, and eradication of animal diseases in accordance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code * Sharing of information and best practices on food safety standards and regulations * Technical assistance and capacity building in food safety * Promotion of trade in safe and quality food products Significance for Ukraine The agreement is seen as a significant step in Ukraine’s efforts to expand its international food trade. The head of the SSUFSCP, Serhiy Tkachuk, stated that the memorandum will make “even more different categories of Ukrainian food available on Asian markets.” Current Trade Status Currently, Ukrainian food products are present in five markets in Singapore, and the SSUFSCP aims to increase this presence. The MoU is expected to pave the way for enhanced bilateral trade in food products, ensuring the safety and quality of goods traded between the two countries.

The State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection of Ukraine (SSUFSCP) and the Food Agency of the Republic of Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of food safety to facilitate mutual trade in import, export and re-export, the press service of the Ukrainian agency reports.
According to the report, the parties also plan to promote the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the control, prevention and eradication of animal diseases, in accordance with the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
“The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection continues to work on expanding the sales of Ukrainian products on the international stage. And the memorandum between the competent authorities of Ukraine and Singapore is one of the steps to make even more different categories of Ukrainian food available on Asian markets. Currently, there are 5 markets in Singapore and we will not stop there,” said the head of the department, Serhiy Tkachuk.
