Bloomfield Event: * Date: Friday, July 19 * Time: 9am to 3pm * Location: First Baptist Church, 201 Center St. * Services: * Health screenings * Food distribution * Non-perishable items distribution * Communal lunch from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Van Buren Event: * Date: Tuesday, July 31 * Time: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. * Location: Van Buren High School, 202 College St. * Services: * Health screenings * Food distribution * Non-perishable items distribution * Communal lunch from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Health Screenings: Preventive mammograms can be scheduled during these events by calling 573-331-3952. Preventive screenings are covered by insurance, including Medicaid, for women over 40 who have not had a mammogram in the past 12 months. Patients without insurance may be eligible for free screening through Dig For Life and the Saint Francis Foundation. Food Assistance: Both events will feature a mobile food bank from 10 a.m. where food, paper products, diapers, wipes, and hygiene kits will be distributed. Community Lunch: On July 19, a community lunch will be hosted by the Saint Francis Foundation and Bank of Advance. On July 31, the lunch will be sponsored by the foundation and First Midwest Bank. Additional sponsors of these mobile wellness events include P&G and the Drury Southwest Foundation.

Mobile Day of Caring events are coming to the Bloomfield and Van Buren communities this month.

These events are sponsored by Saint Francis Healthcare and provide the opportunity to receive a health screening, receive food and non-perishable items, and enjoy a communal lunch.

Saint Francis Mobile Wellness will visit Bloomfield from 9am to 3pm on Friday, July 19. The event will take place at First Baptist Church, 201 Center St.

The Van Buren event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 31 at Van Buren High School, 202 College St.

A communal lunch is available on both days from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Preventive mammograms can be scheduled during these events by calling 573-331-3952.

Preventive screenings are covered by insurance, including Medicaid, St. Francis reports. They are available to people over 40, with no known problems and who have not had a mammogram in the past 12 months.

Patients without insurance may be eligible for free screening through Dig For Life and the Saint Francis Foundation, organizers said.

People under 40 who are at high risk are advised to consult with their doctor and insurance company to determine if this test can be considered a preventive screening.

Early detection of breast cancer improves treatment options, according to the Centers for Disease Control. They report that breast cancer is the second most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death among American women. An estimated 43,170 women will die from breast cancer in 2023.

Both events will feature a mobile food bank and a Day of Care at 10 a.m. Food, paper products, diapers, wipes and hygiene kits will be distributed.

The July 19 event will feature a community lunch hosted by the Saint Francis Foundation and Bank of Advance, while supplies last.

The July 31 event is sponsored by the foundation and First Midwest Bank.

Other sponsors of these mobile wellness events include P&G and the Drury Southwest Foundation.
