On Thursday evening, emergency responders were dispatched to Malaghans Road after receiving reports of an accident involving a van from the exclusive Millbrook resort and a passenger car. According to police, Simran Shiuagani Mala, 25, and Jamie William Pitman, 35, have been identified as the deceased victims. Both were residents of Frankton in Queenstown. Five others sustained injuries as a result of the impact. The Serious Accident Unit is currently investigating the incident and is collecting evidence to determine the cause. Police authorities urge witnesses or anyone with information relating to the crash to come forward and assist in the investigation. This tragic incident highlights the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while driving. Police have named two people who died in a crash near Arrowtown.

Emergency services were called to a collision between a van from the luxury resort and village of Millbrook and a car on Malaghans Rd at around 10pm last Thursday.

In a statement this morning, police said Simran Shiuagani Mala, 25, and Jamie William Pitman, 35, have died. Both were from Frankton in Queenstown.

Five other people were injured.

Police say the Serious Accident Unit is on scene and the investigation is still ongoing.
