This documentary film explores the history and culture of the Iroquois Confederacy, a powerful alliance of six Native American nations that dominated much of present-day New York State for centuries. Through interviews with Iroquois scholars, historians, and community members, the film examines the Iroquois’s sophisticated political system, their role in colonial wars, and their struggles for land rights and cultural survival. The film also features stunning archival footage and present-day scenes that bring the Iroquois’s story to life. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the filmmakers and local Iroquois representatives. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
