The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a $2.4 million investment to install energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the bridges. The project will replace the existing high-pressure sodium lamps with advanced LED fixtures, offering several significant benefits: * Improved Visibility: LEDs emit a brighter, more focused light, significantly improving visibility for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. * Energy Efficiency: LED lighting consumes significantly less energy than traditional lighting, resulting in substantial cost savings and reduced environmental impact. * Increased Lifespan: LEDs have a longer lifespan than traditional bulbs, reducing maintenance and replacement costs over time. * Improved Aesthetics: The warm, white light emitted by LEDs will create a more inviting and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and visitors alike.
